Applied in several areas such as agriculture, livestock and chemical industry
We use new technologies to develop products and applications, and minimize our tailing generation, contributing for environmental preservation. The co-products in our portfolio are applied in several areas, such as agriculture, livestock, mining, steel and chemical industry.
Products registered with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA, Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento) with varying levels of zinc from 72% and highly used in the production of fertilizers. The coloring of these products go from dark yellow to gray. Zinc oxide purity contents less than 95%.
Copper sulfate is mainly used in agriculture, mining and in the chemical industry for electroplating processes in coatings and decorative finishes of metallic parts. This material is also registered with MAPA and complies with current regulatory provisions.
Sulfur dioxide (SO2) is used in the process of water treatment, as a reducing agent, bleaching of paper, sugar and kaolin, as a preservative of food products, and in the production of bisulfites.
Used for making copper sulfate, in the enrichment of copper concentrated, and in making metallic copper. Nexa retrieves copper cementum in different stages of its process with different concentrations and distinct features.
Waelz slag aggregate is a co-product made in the Waelz oven during the recycling of Electric Arc Furnace Dust (EAFD). The material is rich in iron in the form of hematite (Fe2O3) and is used by the steel industry for the production of pig-iron and steel.
Cadmium is a by-product of the zinc production process. The product is mainly used in the nickel-cadmium battery industry and in the manufacture of pigments, being traded in the form of high purity rods or metallic sponge.
