Nexa is announcing that, on the 10th of April, it obtained a judicial decision that allows it to immediately return to its activities in Aripuanã, which had been temporarily suspended on the previous day by an order emitted by the 23rd Regional Labor Court of the Juina Labor Court. The company reiterates its commitment to continuing to follow all of the protocols to combat Covid-19 which have been set by federal, state and municipal governments. The return to activities is taking place according to Municipal Decree no. 3.806/2020 which allows civil construction activities provided that they follow all recommended safety and protection measures by the Municipal Surveillance and other supervisory bodies.

 

Nexa reinforces that, since the first fortnight of March, it has adopted a series of preventative measures which include 14 days’ isolation of 100% of its own and third-party employees who arrive in the municipal even if they are asymptomatic, as well as setting up the Mutual Help Committee, involving leaders and health professional from all of the companies working on the Aripuanã Project construction works. The company has been constantly monitoring the state of health of its employees, with permanent medical assistance as well as hygiene and sanitary measures.
